10 Things to Reduce Our Exposure to Toxic Chemicals

We are exposed to toxic levels of chemicals wherever we live in the U.S.A.

Over 3,000 chemicals are added to our food supply today and 1,000 new ones are introduced each year.  Some of these include Aspartame, MSG, DDT, Dioxins, and Pesticides.

Americans experience up to 70 exposures a day of a class of toxic chemicals known as persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

These are some of the toxic chemicals that cause cancer, can disrupt hormones, affect reproduction, cause respiratory problems or link to diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Autism, Depression, Diabetes, Obesity, and Parkinson’s.

Here are symptoms of toxic exposure:

  • Colds and flu
  • Congestion
  • Chronic fatigue and exhaustion
  • Digestive disturbances
  • Headaches
  • Liver dysfunction
  • Problems with teeth and gums
  • Rashes
  • Respiratory illness
  • Sinus infections
  • Skin disease (psoriasis, eczema, acne, etc.)

10 Things To Reduce Our Exposure To Toxic Chemicals

It is almost impossible to avoid all of these chemicals, but we can do a few things to reduce our exposure in our diet and environment.

  1. Choose fresh organic fruits and vegetables
  2. Avoid artificial additives and processed foods
  3. Limit consumption of canned foods
  4. Replace your Aluminum cooking pans with stainless steel
  5. Switch over to only natural personal care products, such as shampoo, toothpaste, and cosmetics.
  6. Get a Water Purifier for your drinking water and shower
  7. Replace toxic household cleaners in your home with nontoxic, safe, effective and natural alternatives
  8. Avoid using pesticides in your home and garden or use natural alternatives
  9. Remove Indoor Air Pollutants by using a UV-C Air Sanitizer
  10. Reduce exposure to pollutants in surfaces and Sanitize with UV-C Light.

We are exposed to many chemicals that create immediate and long term negative effects on our health.  When we begin taking initiative with Better Living Choices and take control of our immediate environment, our health and the toxins around us change.
